Summary

Sherman Park Plan Steering Committee held its 5th meeting last evening at the Boner Center.  The steering committee reviewed infrastructure improvements that were planned to support the development concept shared at the Public Input Meeting #5 on February 27th.  The infrastructure improvements included road upgrades, Michigan Street underpass improvements, utility extensions for water and sanitary sewer, and storm water piping and detention areas.  The committee reviewed preliminary estimated costs and project phasing strategies that would coincide with potential future industrial, commercial, mixed-use and multi-family development on the Sherman Park site.  The committee also reviewed preliminary draft economic benefit and fiscal impact that will be further refined over the coming month prior to the next Public Input Meeting #6 scheduled for April 19th at 6:00PM at the Boner Center.

Great stuff – good overall infrastructure thinking to support Sherman Park development concept while continuing to pursue efficient energy savings and environmental sustainable solutions.
